Somos la Federación de Comunidades Nativas del Río Ucayali (FECONAU), una de las federaciones más antiguas de la Amazonía peruana. Representamos a más de 30 comunidades pertenecientes a los pueblos indígenas Shipibo-Konibo, Asháninka, Isconahua y Awajúm. Nuestra labor es proteger los derechos de estos pueblos y sus territorios ancestrales, que luchan día a día tratando de contener actividades extractivas ilegales como el narcotráfico, la tala ilegal de madera y la invasión de tierras que causan destrucción en nuestro hogar, el pulmón del mundo, y hábitat de cientos de miles de especies de vida silvestre.

We are the Federation of Native Communities of the Ucayali River (FECONAU), one of the oldest federations in the Peruvian Amazon. We represent more than 30 communities belonging to the Shipibo-Konibo, Asháninka, Isconahua and Awajúm indigenous peoples. Our work is to protect the rights of these people and their ancestral territories, as they fight every day trying to contain illegal extractive activities such as drug trafficking, illegal logging and the invasion of lands that cause destruction to our home, the lung of the world, and habitat for hundreds of thousands of wildlife species.

Hoy necesitamos de tu ayuda para recaudar un total de S/150,000 y poder así construir una Maloka, un refugio donde nuestros líderes puedan sentirse protegidos y que sirva también como espacio para que sean capacitados en protocolos y mecanismos de seguridad y que puedan continuar con su labor sin temor a represalias. 

Today we need your help to raise a total of S/. 150,000 and thus be able to build a “Maloka”, a refuge where our leaders can feel protected and that also serves as a space for them to be trained in security protocols and mechanisms so that they can continue with their work without fear of retaliation.
